Everything You Wanted to Know About Skims (But Were Afraid to Ask)

I’m an unapologetic and enthusiastic supporter of the Kardashian Industrial Complex. I genuinely believe The Kardashians (née Keeping Up With The Kardashians) is the most compelling TV show ever made, but beyond that, I also firmly believe the KardashJenners are incredible businesswomen (bible!) and I love their hustle. As an entrepeneuse, I have a particular fascination with their various business ventures . From Poosh to Khy to Good American to Lemme to KKW Beauty - over the years I’ve tried so many of their products out of a combination of kuriosity and respeKt. There have been hits (RIP the KKW Beauty contour and highlight stick, forever in our hearts) and there have been misses (Kendall Jenner’s teeth whitening pen?!) - but one KardashKompany reigns supreme above them all. SKIMS. I’m so impressed with everything I’ve tried from Skims - from the fabrics to the branding to the creative campaigns to the cuts … I could go on and on. Skims is just great, and at this point I’d say about 75% of my bras and underwear are from. Kim really put her whole kussy into Skims and it shows.

If you’ve been curious about Skims but confused where to start - fear not! Because finally, I’ve compiled a list of my all time favorite Skims products. The ones I have on repeat. The ones that I can’t live without. I also asked fellow Skimsvangelist Justine Marino, who’s legitimately a SkimsSavant, for her must have products. As a BONUS, for my fellow budget conscious girlinas, I’ve also included some really great Amazon Skims dupes. Carry on!

My Fave Skims Products

Fits Everybody Scoop Bralette

There is a 95% chance this bra is on my boobs at any given moment. It’s from the Fits Everybody collection - a Skims classic fabric, a scientifically astounding combination of polyamide and elastane that combines into a fabric that’s soft, smoothing, comfortable, and perhaps most importantly, holds up in the washer/dryer. I don’t care if it’s synthetic and infusing my nipples with microplastics - I LOVE this fabric and I LOVE this bra! I adore the neutral colors it comes in, and it’s so nice that I can always match one of these with a corresponding Skims underwear product. Wearing a matching bra and underwear set just makes me feel more put together, even if I haven’t showered in days and look like the Mary Poppins bird woman. It should be noted - I have a D cup (brag) - and this bra isn’t super supportive. I wouldn’t wear it on days where I need my boobs to be lifted and sucked and locked in place. It’s more of a running errands/lounging around the house bra.

Fits Everybody Crossover Bralette

Everything I said for the bra above applies to this bra. The triangle shape is v sexy and even though it has a hook closure in back, it’s still incredibly comfortable. Seriously. The comfort of the Fits Everybody bras can not be overstated. Like literally, I often sleep in these bras!

Seamless Sculpt Bralette

This bra is my number one favorite higher support option from Skims. It’s magic. Even though it has no underwire and no padding, it sucks and lifts and smooths and makes my heavy Jewish breasts look really nice under all kinds of shirts, even unforgiving things like tight baby tees and sweaters. It’s technically in the Shapewear section of the Skims website, so you know this shit is serious. I wouldn’t say this bra is super comfortable or good for lounging, but If I need the girls to look good and sit pretty, I always reach for this bad boy. Note: you MUST size up at least one size otherwise it will be way too tight and uncomfortable.

Fits Everybody Dipped Front Thong

THIS THONG IS EVERYTHING. It’s in that great super stretchy comfy Fits Everybody material - but the CUT is what takes this thong to the next level. The front dip is so sexy, so flattering, so 90s - I can’t stop staring at myself in the mirror when I wear this. Esther told me about them years ago and I haven’t looked back. I own at least 20.

Fits Everybody Cheeky Brief

The non-thong version of my favorite underwear. Incredibly soft and stretchy. Seriously, once you start wearing these it will be very hard to go back to non-Kardashian underwear.

Cotton Rib Tank

I love this tank. Incredibly flattering for a big boobed/short torso girl like me. The cropped length is divine, the scoop neck is sexy, it’s just effortless and adorable. Neither demure nor mindful. Beware - something about the cut of this tank top makes men go crazy. I’ve had men request I keep this tank top on DURING SEX. No joke!

Justine’s Skims Recs!

I reached out to the hilarious and gorgeous Justine Marino - you may know her as a stand up comic, and host of the Glitter and Garbage podcast - but I know her as a noted Skims aficionado. I don’t think I know someone who owns more Skims - Justine is DEEP in the extended Skims multiverse.

Justine's Enviable Skims Collection

Whenever I see her she’s wearing H2T Skims. She owns Skims products I didn’t even existed, like lamé catsuits and fullblown cargo pants. When I started to compile this sacred text, I knew I HAD to include her treasured recs, as they would be the thoughtful result of thousands of hours of research and thousands of dollars of her money.

1.     “Without a doubt my go-to recommendation for anyone living under a rock / trying Skims for the first time is anything from the Fits Everybody collection. They have perfected the blend of polyamide and elastane to create a fabric so buttery soft that fits your body like a glove - OJ could never!! My very first purchase from Skims was the Crossover Bralette from this collection and I have been down bad for this brand ever since. These bras are free of any padding or underwires, and are equal parts comfy and flattering. However, if I’m going to try to hard-sell anyone on this collection, I’ve got to recommend the Fits Everybody Bodysuits. They are chic, clean, and most importantly - tight. They also retain their shape beautifully after many wears. I don’t know what witchcraft Kim is doing, but Fits Everybody is a spell I’m thrilled to be under.”

      2.      “The Cozy Crewneck Pullover. I’m trying to refrain from recommending all full collections (though this is another full collection I can confidently get behind) so I’m recommending my personal favorite piece from Skims Cozy - the Crewneck Pullover. This material is so - you guessed it - cozy! It’s all I can do not to fly to Aspen right now just to allow this sweater the full life it deserves - window shopping while hoping Mariah Carey or Goldie Hawn walks by and compliments me. What I love about the Cozy Crewneck is it looks great paired with the matching joggers as a set, but also works with jeans, leather leggings, Winnie the Pooh-style, or with a collared shirt under for a hot substitute teacher look. The possibilities are truly endless! I have bought this sweater for most of my immediate and extended family. Even my boyfriend is a believer in this luxurious boucle dream garment. 10/10 Marinos recommend. (Yes I made my boyfriend take my last name in this scenario.)”

        3.      “This final slot was a hard one. I desperately wanted to say the Outdoor Woven Pants, because the original drop of this item was fit perfection, especially in the length department as a shorter girlie. However the second drop length is longer, so it’s no longer an A+ rec for me, but I did want to give an honorable mention since I wear my OG Outdoor Pants constantly and get tons of compliments on them. That being said, my final Skims favorite item is the Scoop Neck One Piece Bathing Suit. This suit is sooooo sexy and cut just right - just enough side boob, tons of back and I don’t know what Kim’s scientists are doing at the Skims factory but my butt looks so good and lifted in this suit it should be illegal. I should also mention I’m not even really a pool or beach person! I love beach and pool culture but I don’t love getting into the water (I’ve spent so much time getting ready, getting wet feels like such a to-do) so for me to count a swimsuit among my favorite items is quite an endorsement. Also, hot tip: this suit doubles beautifully as a sexy bodysuit when worn with jeans or a skirt. I have upwards of 10 pieces from Skims Swim and have worn most of them as clothing, not swimwear. 10/10 recommend!”

Skims Dupes!

One thing I don’t like about Skims is that it’s overpriced, and the staples never go on sale. Since I am #cheap, I’ve become maniacally obsessed with finding Skims DUPES. The Skims Dupes community on TikTok is basically my familia now. Thosee girlies really go in, analyzing the fabric composition of Skims items and finding equivalents for cheaper on Amazon. PUMIEY Women's Crew Neck Long Sleeve Bodysuit

This long sleeve bodysuit is a near perfect dupe for the Fits Everybody long sleeve crewneck bodysuit. It’s got the same exact buttery, stretchy, soft feel (both are the same exact fabric composition at 76% Polyamide and 24% Elastane). It’s even double lined, which Skims is not! It comes in lots of fun colors - more than its Skims counterpart. I own it in black, navy, brown, and tan. Best of all, it’s 28.99 to Skims’ $70. SHAPERX Women's Shapewear Bodysuit Tummy Control Body Shaper Seamless Sculpting Snatched Waist Body Suit

This bodysuit sucks you in to a crazy degree. It will make you feel like a sexy Costco hotdog (in a good way). It’s a dupe for Skims’ $70 famous shapewear brief bodysuit, except this one is only $37.99. Like Justine, I don’t even use this as shapewear. I just wear it with jeans! Such an easy, sexy look.

Women's Basic Sleeveless Crop Top Shirt Ribbed Scoop Neck Casual Summer Clothes

This cropped tank top is a great and cheap alternative to my beloved $38 Skims cotton rib tank. It ends at a very flattering and sexy length. The color selection is a little more basic than its Skims counterpart, but for 14.99 I’m not complaining! This was on repeat all summer.

PUMIEY Women's Slip Maxi Dress Sexy Ribbed Bodycon Dresses Long Dress'

Reddit tells me this $29 dress is a great dupe for the famous $80 Skims Soft Lounge Long Slip Dress. I never totally got the hype around this dress - I feel like it’s so unforgiving and unflattering? Plus it’s not comfy enough to sleep in, and not put together enough to actually leave the house in. But passing it along in case you’re looking to look like a sexy sausage.
